SCHOOL NEWS edgewood speller places eighth in county bee

Eighth grader Alison R. of Fairmont's Edgewood campus bravely spelled down 42 of the county’s best spellers, making it to the final round of the fourty-eighth annual Orange County Scripps National Spelling Bee. Fifty finalists, from twenty-eight public schools and seven private schools, competed Saturday, February 26 at the Orange County Department of Education. Alison placed 8th overall in the county.  She received a plaque and a cash award for her valiant efforts.
