SHOW & TELL
First Graders Celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day
Did you know that "Johnny Appleseed" was a real person?  His real name was John Chapman and he was born on Sept. 26, 1774 in Massachusetts.  These are just a couple of facts that the first graders learned during Johnny Appleseed Day at the Mable Campus.  After reading books and writing about this special man, they ended the week by celebrating what would have been his 236th birthday.

The wonderful first grade parents planned a yummy snack of apple pie, sliced apples, applesauce, and apple juice.  The goodies were enjoyed picnic style on our outside grassy area. First grader, Jason Vo, said, "I like how Johnny Appleseed gave seeds to the pioneers so they could plant them."
