FRIDAY FOLDER citron campus october 1

SHOW & TELL
Character Counts
Have you noticed something new outside Mrs. Douglas’ office? We are helping Hero the Husky Pup build a rainbow! Each month we are teaching monthly pillars. As we recognize each child’s good deeds, we will give him or her a brick to add to the rainbow corresponding with the color of their good deed. Below are each month’s good deeds and colors.

October: Fairness – Orange
November: Respect – Yellow
December/January: Trustworthiness – Blue
February: Caring – Red
March: Responsibility – Green
April: Citizenship – Purple
May/June: All Pillars

Together with the help of our campus mascot “Hero”, the students will gain an understanding of the importance of good character. Feel free to come and take a look at how many students have been fair so far for the month of October!

Jog-A-Thon
Citron students will join together in our annual Jog-A-Thon on Wednesday, October 6th. This is a fun, campus-wide spirit event in which the students walk/jog laps to the cheers of or in the company of parents and teachers. Our Jog-A-Thon encourages exercise and also helps raise funds for the Citron Fairmont Parent's Association for our activities throughout the year.
We encourage you to come cheer for you child! We also hope that you, your family, and your friends will consider being a sponsor for your child’s Jog-A-Thon efforts. Please check with the office for more information and to pick up your pledge form.

Box Tops
The Box Top Program is a fundraiser program where our campus receives $0.10 for each Box Top coupon redeemed. Box top coupons can be found on hundreds of commonly used household items and food brands including: Cheerios, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Ziploc, Kleenex, and Hefty. A collection box is located at the front desk.
To encourage our students to participate, we will be recording the coupon amounts received by classroom and reward the top class with a special party after each of the collection deadlines. A handout will be given out next week with more information.

Oops…
There is a change in the Citron Campus Calendar for October 11th. The Calendar shows it as a no school day. The Citron Campus will be open and run its regular hours. We apologize for the confusion.
