SHOW & TELL
Denim Day 2010
Thank you so very much to our first grade teacher, Marci Shaffer for organizing the "Lee National Denim Day" at the Anaheim Hills Campus!  As much as we all loved wearing jeans and pink in celebration of this day, the cause is real and cancer touches so many of us and our families. We are pleased to announce that you all contributed $2,620 to Breast Cancer Research!  Marci's mother died of breast cancer and she wore a shirt that said "Mom, I miss you" and her sons wore shirts that said "I wear pink for my grandma".  Thank you also to Mrs. Davtyan, Emory and Norah's mom, for helping Mrs. Shafer so much. Mrs Davytan's mother is a breast cancer survivor.  Thank you to all our other moms and Mrs. Apple who fight the battle so valiantly and bravely.

"A Meal That Changes A Holiday...A Message That Changes A Lifetime."
The Boxes of Love effort continues this week.  We will be collecting boxes filled with 'your love' from October 5 through October 22.  Canning Hunger distributes these boxes to less fortunate families in Orange County, and they are hoping to help 22,000 families this holiday season.

This is a great opportunity to go to the grocery store with your child and help them shop for their gift to others!  Planting the 'seeds' of philanthropy!

Kids READ!  Book Drive
7th grader Megan Mettler is organizing a book drive as a community service project.  If you are interested in helping her by donating books to "Kids READ!" you can drop off new and used children's books in bins located around the school between Friday, October 15-Friday,  November  19.   The books will benefit needy children in Orange County. "Books inspire minds every day"
For any questions please contact Megan Mettler, 7th grader at kidsreadbookdrive@yahoo.com

8th Grade  Peer to Peer Day at Prep
Anaheim Hills Peer-to-Peer Day at Fairmont Prep is Thursday, Nov. 4th 9 am – 12:30 pm.
8th grade students will be transported to the Prep by bus from AH in the morning and will be guided by Prep Student Ambassadors as they experience first-hand what it’s like to be a Husky both in and out of the classroom.  Faculty, counselors, administrators and coaches will be on hand to welcome the Anaheim Hills 8th grade class.  This event takes place during the Prep’s annual Spirit Week activities leading up to our Homecoming game on Friday, November 5th.  Everyone is encouraged to dress according to theme which is the Happiest Homecoming on Earth!  Each day’s theme is centered around a unique Disney attraction.  Thursday, November 4th is Space Mountain Day and students may dress up as robots, aliens, astronauts, or any Sci-Fi or futuristic character they can dream up. Lunch will be provided and students will get to participate in space themed lunchtime activities such as laser tag, Space Invaders, spaceship photo booths and more before returning back to the Anaheim Hills campus at 12:30 pm.

Anaheim Hills parents are invited to attend our Peer-to-Peer Day Parent hour which will take place in the Prep library from 9 – 10 am only.  There, parents will be served a continental breakfast and hear from Headmaster Mr. Mendoza, Counselors, Prep parents, students and administrators.  This is great event for those who couldn’t make it to Prep Info. Night.  Please RSVP to Sylvanda Edwards, Admissions Counselor at the Prep at sedwards@fairmontschools.com.
